Works like a charm, but is it legitimate? – As my original battery that came with my S3 has lost its ability to hold a charge for very long, I decided to purchase this replacement battery. Some reviews for this battery say that it doesn’t charge to 100% or it doesn’t hold a charge at all. I have not had any of those problems with this battery so far. I have charged it once to 100% (as it doesn’t come pre-charged) and it has lasted over 13 hours with moderate use of the phone, and it’s still going. The only problem I have encountered with this battery is that it will not charge in a Samsung battery charger I have recently purchased. The battery that came with the Samsung battery charger (Samsung Galaxy SIII Spare Battery Charging System) charges perfectly in the charger, and so does the original battery that came with my phone. THIS battery, however, is not recognized and will not charge in the battery charger (but will charge in the phone itself). I don’t know if it is a legitimate Samsung battery, but it looks and works like it is. So far, so good.

Great direct replacement battery – I was having issues with battery life with my Galaxy S3, which apparently is not that uncommon, and decided to purchase this battery as a direct replacement. Fortunately it was the exact one that fit my phone and was super easy to replace and had my phone back up and working. Turns out though that it was not just the battery that needed replacing but my whole phone, but this at least gave me the time needed for the next few months to replace my whole phone. The price was amazing and worked exactly as advertised. I removed my old battery put the new battery in and charged it up to 100%. It lasted at minimum 16 hours with use compared to the original battery that would only last two hours with use. I would highly suggest that if you are having battery life issues and your device has a removable battery, to try replacing the batter to see if it improves. Similarly it is a really good idea to have a spare battery for every device that you have charged in the case of an emergency, or power outage. Having a spare would allow you to change out batteries and give you extended device use while the other charges. I do this on a regular basis and am glad that I did this for this phone as I will be using it as an emergency only phone. On another note I strongly suggest that you only use the direct replacement battery designed for your device. You can check the specs for your battery and device by removing the back cover of your device and comparing the specs against the battery you are looking at purchasing. Or look up the specifications for your device’s battery online before purchasing. Putting the incorrect battery type into your phone can cause irreparable damage. similarly if your phone does not have a battery that is designed to be removed by you, do not try and replace it yourself as it will likely void your warranty.

Excellent as a backup – Bought two of these batteries because the price was right. From past experience with a Samsung Galaxy S, having a backup battery was an invaluable accessory for that phone. With the far more advanced Galaxy S3, a battery ravisher, I thought having twin backups was the way to go. Before I decided to write this review, I field tested both batteries in conjunction with the original. Keeping the rotation of three batteries straight took some doing, but the results are in. The backups are about 85% equal to the original in that they seem to discharge at a faster rate. But as a plus, they charge faster than the original. So perhaps there is a correlation, faster discharge and faster charge. In addition, talk and standby time on all three batteries is about equal. The disparity occurs when advanced features are being performed by the phone…but with backups in tow, I can afford to go full throttle on demand. So far, I have had no occasion to use the NFC on my phone so that feature of the battery is yet to be determined. If I find any anomalies, I will alter this review to reflect what I uncover.

Better to fix than replace. – I have an old Samsung III that wouldn’t hold a charge. Swap out the old (puffy) battery for a good one, and it is back on the line
